KEY WORK EXPERIENCE:

Philip Appleton has over 20 years working experience in developing countries mainly working on relief or development projects as a technical specialist or team leader. Projects have been in a number of sectors including formal and non-formal education, vocational training, communication and public awareness, institutional development, human resources development, civil society strengthening, governance, rural development and water resources management. His work has a particular focus on strategy development and project implementation and management especially concerning capacity building, communication and community participation.

Philip is a qualified, UK registered teacher and an Associate Lecturer with the Open University for the MSc. in Development Management course. He has extensive experience of facilitation, training and mentoring with adults and communication campaigns. He also has experience of working with international and national NGOs as well as a range of donors including; the EC, World Bank, ADB, DFID, Danida, Sida, GTZ, KfW, AusAID, UNHCR and UNICEF. He is familiar with LFA, PCM as well as specific donor procedures and guidelines.
