KEY WORK EXPERIENCE

Olwen Herbison has almost twenty years experience of working in developing countries concerned with project identification, implementation and evaluation across a range of different sectors. Work has been mainly related to capacity building, institutional development, HRD, vocational training, formal and non-formal education. She has professional experience in project identification and evaluation, policy and strategy formulation, training needs assessment, labour market analysis, management of training and HRD programmes, development of curricula, training materials and methodologies, training of trainers, counterpart training and mentoring, lifelong learning, civil society strengthening, governance and gender mainstreaming.

Olwen has also worked as a counsellor, a school teacher and as a personnel manager in the private sector. She is also an Associate Lecturer in International Development with the Open University, tutoring students based in Ireland. She has experience of working with international and national NGOs as well as a range of donors including: EU, Danida, SIDA, SDC, GTZ, KfW, USAID, ADB, UNDP and World Bank. She is familiar with LFA, PCM and donor procedures.
